02.11.2011 - Munich. The leading trade fair for electromobility, eCarTec 2011, was held from October 18 - 20 in Munich. The trade fair, which focuses on one of the world's largest growth markets, increased enormously this year and was a full success for all who took part.
Like last year, Bals Elektrotechnik GmbH, together with its cooperation partner Lapp Kabel from Stuttgart and charging station manufacturer Rohde & Schwarz from Teisnach, presented itself to an international audience at a 75 m² exhibition booth.
Type 2 charging socket with cover lock and LED lighting
There were a number of very innovative new products in the area of system components. A special highlight was the now field attachable type 2 charging socket with lockable hinged cover and RGB LED lighting. This is now VDE certified and available up to 63A; conductors up to 25 mm² can be connected in the contact terminals.
Easy CONTACT
This novel contact technology enables effortless plugging and unplugging of the charging plug. This is extremely important with charging connectors, since they are very often exposed to insertion and with drawl cycles. All type 2 charging sockets are also equipped with silver plated contacts to ensure good conductivity and resistance to corrosion in extreme conditions.
CP Compact Module
This compact module enables communication between the vehicle and charging station. The E-CP670, measuring only 3 TE, has considerably more functions than a comparable Standard CP Module.
For example, the adjustment of the intensity of current is infinitely variable from 6A - 70 A, meaning only one component is needed for different current intensities. Connected to the E-130 charging socket, the E-182 and
E-183 interlocking devices and the E-192 or E-193 caps, the compact module also controls the interlocking devices of the plug, the hinged cover and the LED lighting.
Type 1 in accordance with SAE J1772
The SAE J1772 type 1 connector is brand new in our product range. The system designed in the US and Japan and built into their electric vehicles was developed by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) and standardised under J1772. Based on this standard, Bals has developed a new charging connector which, unlike other conventional type 1 products, can be freely assembled. It is designed for singlephase current with 250 V and 30 A and, like the type 2 charging plug provided in Germany, has two signal conductors for communication with the vehicle.
