Bals plugs and sockets are characterised by the following features:

Impact resistance	Impact resistant, even at extremely low temperatures; tested to -25°C
Dimensionally stable	In the event of high heat generation, glow wire test at 650°C and 850°C
Protection class	In acc. with protection classes IP44 to IP67, tests acc. to EN 60529, among others at a water depth of 1 m
Switching capacity	High switching capacity: can be inserted and withdrawn while under load, contacts and inserts are subjected to constant mechanical, electrical and thermal loads
Ageing resistant	Long-term testing at a temperature of 80°C
Isolation	Plastic parts isolate voltages >= 2500V AC
Shape	Dimensionally stable and abrasion resistant, tested through years of use under harsh operating conditions
Environmentally friendly	Bals plugs and sockets are PVC, cadmium, halogen and silicon free
